Installing Qt on Windows
This is a step-by-step manual how to easily download and install Qt toolchain for Windows. Please remember that Qt is free and open-source software and you don't need for a paid license: the commercial license is required for a closed-source software.
Download installer
Unfortunately, an official site became tricky to find a download link. So, there are simple rules how to find it:
Step 1: Open qt.io - an official site of Qt project.
Step 2: Click the "Download. Try." button (no, you don't need to buy anything, just find a download link).
Step 3: Find the "Download for open source users" block:
Step 4: Scroll to the down of a page and find the "Download Qt Online installer" button:
Step 5: Click the "Download" button. Alternatively you can get an offline installer for your platform:
Important note: If you looking for an offline installer, it's only available for the Qt 5.12.x only. But, for our purposes that should be enough. You can download the LAST offline installer for the version 5.14.2 using this link (2.3 GB). Since the Qt version 5.15, Qt Group no longer offers offline installers for their open-source versions.
Important note: in some country, the above link results in an error "Download from your IP address is not allowed", which you're ineligible to download it in your country.
Step 6: After downloading of installer, run it.
Online installer
Offline installer
Offline installer should don't ask you to login. It hasn't difference from an online installer except of a components list.
Important note: If offline installer had to ask you to login, close it!
Then, temporarely disconnect an Internet and start installer again. Then hit "Next" and once you'll get the "Welcome to open-source", feel free to enable Internet back.
