I'm trying to run the script to convert episodes for optimized format for 3DS, but I keep getting this error whenever it hits a .gif file in the folder I run it on:

Code: Select all

Invalid Parameter - /bonus1\background-17.gif"
identify: unable to open image 'the_invasion_2_3ds/bonus1\background-17.bmp': No such file or directory @ error/blob.c/OpenBlob/3711.
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "C:\Users\**********\Downloads\thextech-full-src-v1.3.7.2\thextech-full-src\utils\convertkit\gfx-convert-3ds.py", line 168, in <module>
    w, h = os.popen(f'identify -format "%[fx:w*2],%[fx:h*2]" "{bmpfn}"').read().split(',')
    ^^^^
ValueError: not enough values to unpack (expected 2, got 1)

I have both python and ImageMagick added to the PATH on my Windows 11, so I don't think that should be the issue?

Hello! This script wasn't tested well on Windows, it was mostly polished on Linux, I will try to debug it soon. As a quick solution, please try to run WSL thing as it should just work.

Added after 1 minute 5 seconds:
ANYWAY, it's an alternative solution called "XTConvert" that is going to be a main way to convert content for 3DS, and you can try the experimental version from here: https://builds.wohlsoft.ru/win32/moondust-win64/p ... tainer-wip-xtconvert-win64.zip
Just start the Moondust Maintainer, (pge_maintainer.exe), select the "XTConvert" menu item, fill the form, and try to run it.

Thank you! The new tool seems to be working perfectly so far.

when I put the .romfs file in the worlds folder, it doesn't show up in the episodes menu. Is there a way to fix that?

Do you place it at the "worlds" sub-directory? Oh, you probably need to place it at "worlds/smbx" sub-directory in newer versions.

At the root directory it's need to place game packs, not episode
