In-editor sprite editing?

I think you should add ability to edit game's graphics directly in editor, without external tools. Map editing code could be reused as editing bitmap is kinda like editing 2D map, only you put color squares (pixels) instead of tiles.

And incredibly hard to come by on google. I mean, the only reason I know about this is that a friend of mine linked me to this project.

Re: User Interface (UI) Design Suggestions [Old topic]

I think you should draw inspiration from RPG Maker. Although, as it name suggests, it is made mostly for RPGs, it has one of best tile-based map/level editors I've encountered.

Re: Events as in Construct2/GameDevelop/MMF2 events, not as in source code!

I'm OK with that. But by no means go after something like Game Maker's DnD events. Those are ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. I think it would be cool if you'd download Game Develop (http://compilgames.net) and examine how it is done there. I think GD is golden standard of well-made visual scripting/event syste...

To overthought names. I think Kitten Platform Studio is simple enough to remember and unique enough to not get lost in google search. Your ideas... would be hard to remember - I mean I've already forgot these.

Re: Events as in Construct2/GameDevelop/MMF2 events, not as in source code!

They aren't. Construct2 is general-use game creation tool (i.e. not tied to any particular genre). Just download it, it has free version that will show you it. Or better, download Game Develop, free and open source game making tool to see it. It is very easy to use system, much easier than writing c...

Events as in Construct2/GameDevelop/MMF2 events, not as in source code!

I think it would be good (and easier for newcomers) if NPCs and other stuff would be coded like in Construct2. This would make for faster iteration as it is really hard to make syntax error with visual programming and it is generally faster - even child could use it and I think it's important to not...

Re: Names for this project's end release.

Current logo seems to be a kitten. So how about Kitten Platform Studio? Additional bonus: Internet loves kittens.
