something I'd really like to see for this is a feature akin to Photoshop's Marching Ants (Box version, or Polygonal Lasso), so you can only select what is inside them. This would reduce the risk of deleting or overwriting things accidentally or filling the whole stage with the Paint Bucket, and could be used for a great deal.
Pasting or moving things in would have to be disabled or restricted, though, for if the box is too small, and I don't know how the removal of them would work.
PGE is looking great as it is, and will be a great tool without this, anyway.

Hi, interest idea of that 
Here is planned the "metrics tools" feature to put some non-playable rectangles/lines which just can be used for convenience of editing process and also use them to guess a visible by player area where you can freely remove invisible elements from level/world-map. And good idea to lock elemts inside or outside those zones, thanks for idea
