I release some months ago a parralax background system.
Now I made a level patch to install this system easily, and there is a little instruction and a level example to understand how to use it !

You can download here : https://www.mediafire.com/?eakdgkfd6mf55df
And apply this level patch with SMBX Level Patcher.

  • I wonder if this system work in vertical?
  • I am bad in scripts, I wonder how I make a level with a simple background but in foreground, a lightweight fog?

Thank you! :)

I made a level that involves parallax, and the water beckground that contains 24-32 frames. :gamer:
I'm going to post a level "Sakura Outskirts" for my new episode sooner or later. Be patient until I post the finished level. :to_keep_order:

[*] Yes It's possible.
[*] Just read the instruction in the script, the foreground must move faster than the block, and selection background foreground object.

Just change the value, and read the instruction in the script.

May the TeaScript be with you, Catskart.
On-topic: I tested this on one of BMat's backgrounds, and it turned out well.
Also, here's that background. (uses gfx expansion)

Using this script on more than one section.

Post #17by SkewerKing » 31 May 2024, 10:01

I figured out a way to use this script on more than one section:

Step 1: Duplicate every aspect of your parallax BG (All Layers, the Event, both Variables, and the script) (I recommend naming it the same thing but with a 2 or any other sort of differentiator)
Step 2: change all of the values (layer and variable names) on the duplicated script to the new ones.
Step 3: Place the Layered Background Sceneries in your new section.
Step 4: Profit.

I hope this helps.

Is there any way to make this script work in 2 player mode?
