Yeah, this has been done before, but meh whatever. Discuss your favourite Mario game(s), what you like about them, etc.

My favourite Mario game is Super Mario World, I just love everything about it The ghost houses, the secret exits, the switch palaces, the cape... And it actually felt like a big adventure as well, unlike others I've played... Yeah. It's memorable, it's fun to play, and always brings a smile to my face every time.

If you talking about official nintendo games,for me it is SMB3,for some reason i like SMB3 graphics more than SMW,Like in SMW there is secrets,more than in SMW (I think that,seen somewhere). Thats my Fav Game

Super Mario Bros X, of course.

On the "Nintendo Official" side, I like Paper Mario.

Official? Probably Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Super Mario 3D World;
Unofficial? Super Mario Bros. X and, guess what, Cat Mario (or Syobon Action, whatever it's called)!

For official nintendo games, my favourite is Super Mario World and SMB3.

For unofficial games, I have played many Rom hacks of SMW, and SMBX as well.

By the way, one thing I don't like SMBX is its physics. I prefer the physics in SMW much more than that in SMBX, because SMW's physics is way more agile (I mean Mario is having better acceleration there). For reference, you can see Mario's agility in the final boss of Kaizo Mario 3 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYHlznTM2zo). As a comparison, the final boss of SMBX's Princess Cliche 2 is much higher to fight (without hammer suit and bullet bill gun) simply because Mario doesn't have enough acceleration (even if Mario has enough max speed) to dodge the flying koopas (and has a bigger hit box).

I wonder if it's possible to include an additional configuration pack which implements SMW game-play physics instead of replicating all standards of SMBX.

My favorite mario games from nintendo is Super Mario World and Super Mario All-Stars. And, another my favorite games is Super Mario World with many hacks.

Official games: I enjoy playing Paper Mario games,especially Color Splash. New Super Mario Bros series looks kinda cool,I prefer NSMBWii and NSMBU.

Unofficial games: Enjoyed too much playing SMBX,one of the 'best' Mario fan games 'all the time'. SMW hacks also dude!But,Kaizo thingy maybe bad.

I loved Super Mario 64 when I was a kid. And now I love Super Mario Galaxy and the New Super Mario Bros. series.
From the classics I like SMB1 Snes graphics, but not as much as the gimmics it offers. And SMW's gimmicks, but not as much as the graphics. They are less detailed than the ones in SMB1. If we combine SMB1's graphics with SMW's adventure it will be definitely my favourite 2d mario game!
Actually, this is possible with SMBX, so that's why is my favourite fan game!

My favourite unofficial Mario games are SMBX, Mario Forever, and Super Mario War !

Unofficial side: The Purple Coin, SMBX, Super Mario 2011, Mario Forever Remake and Super Mario Warld.

My favourite mario game is New super mario bros U It's so happy and cheerful it has boomboom and all the koopaling my second fav is super mario 3d world

My favorite games are NSMBWii and U , SMB3 , SM3D World and in the future SM Oddysey

Main Stream Mario Games: SMB3 because of many core gameplay elements and enemies (especially the Koopalings) featured in later games debuting in SMB3 and because of other reasons like music, characters, level themes, etc.
Paper Mario Games: Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door because of the polished battle system, music, graphics, partly better partners, etc. (the story might have similarities with the first games' story, but I still prefer TTYD just a little bit over PM64)
Mario & Luigi Games: Partners in Time, as I actually like the approach of a darker storyline compared to the other games (and I can't praise the game without mentioning the great musical scores, especially the battle music which I prefer a little bit over the battle music for Mario & Luigi in BiS. I just hope that there will be a remake for the 3DS like with the other games)
Mario Party: MP7 is not only a great game because of it's characters. It is also great because of its minigames (excluding most luck-based games), boards and its music. It really needs a remake for the 3DS or Switch
I can't find a Mario Kart that is the best, because they all are equally great and each have their flaws, be it the prerendered character sprites in MK64 (Diddy Kong Racing (N64 Version) also has full 3D Models for its characters and some of the tracks seem more complex than MK64's) slippery controls in MKSC, the unbalanced online mode in MKW or the weird character choices in MK7 and MK8 (especially the DLC ones).

Mine’s Super Mario Sunshine.
The first time I played it I was in awe. The game itself gave me an amazing feeling. You were in an environment that just calmed you, allowed you to relax instead of going mission after mission (Kinda like Mario 64 where you could chill after every mission, only you were given chill and relaxing music and amazing views ya know?) The game was my childhood and it still remains my favorite Mario game to this day. I wish to play it again someday, all I’d need is to buy the game online and buy a Gamecube controller if I can’t find any of my old Gamecube controllers since I already have a Wii classic that is backwards compatible with Gamecube games.

My favorite Mario game is Super Mario Brothers 3. It doesn't matter what platform I will play. I like playing it on my SNES, 3DS and Game Boy Advance

Well, my favorite Mario Game is Super Mario 64, i played the Super Mario 3D All Stars Version of this game, and it looks awesome, so yeah that is my favorite Mario Game, I think.

Does SMBX 1.3.0.1, and SMBX 2 count?
