Hammer Mario and Luigi, crouching, on Yoshi, can't get hit by NPCs 246 (generic enemy fireball) and 303 (fire chomp projectile).

It's like the hitbox isn't even there for that frame, lol. :p

That's actually intentional. Hammer Mario from SMB3 can protect himself with the shell.
But, while on Yoshi, I'm not so sure. Since SMB3 didn't have any yoshis, so maybe it was planned to be like the normal crouch.

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about that function for some reason. :o Actually I know the reason: it didn't occur to me because Mario/Luigi wasn't in the same old "curled up in the shell" pose, since he was on Yoshi at the time.

Still was kinda weird that the fire shots passed through Mario and Luigi instead of being blocked, though. Maybe it is just not complete being implemented like the normal crouch, like you said. *shrug*

I think it is correct to get hurt while crouching on Yoshi. With the hammer suit, you actually use the shell to protect yourself, but you can't do that while riding a Yoshi.

Actually, I remember using that glitch on an episode called SMRPG X. It makes you invincible to ANY projectile.
