[Suggestion] Player Ground Pound

Being able to Ground Pound - This would be awesome to have.

This ability would break straight through any breakable bricks and kill enemies of course.

And maybe, you get a coin (money) every time you kill an enemy with a ground pound.

A ground pound huh? Not so bad idea should i say :hi:
They added the wall jump so i think they can add the groundpound technique! :)

Yeah But of Course,It can be turned off to not break existing levels.

Absolutely. Kind of like the wallkick. We must manually add the feature to each level. This would be the same.

I think the biggest problem is the lack of graphics. Being a new feature for the players overall, it must be compatible with all the players and all the power-ups, that means 5438A38A would need a lot of custom sprites...

Well, there is a way to work around this.

Instead of having a graphic that flips Mario (like we see in the example above) Mario would just "Sit" mid-air and pound the ground.

So it would look like Mario is sliding on his butt down a slope (same graphic is used for this so no need to create a new graphic).

So Jump + Press Down once in the air to execute the Ground Pound :)

I am no expert though, but in the graphics sheet I put in the spoiler, there are plenty of free spaces left for animations, so I am sure if he just added the Flip animation later, that would work too and would not break anyone's files, provided that they download the latest version and have the new sprite sheets :)

Oh right I forget about the empty spaces. I just noticed those frames are always available:

And for lack of sprites I meant like these ones, which are escential for the ground pound (just look at the firsts four frames, the others are variations and facing to the other side):

There are 10 spaces available (or probably more) so they could be perfectly filled with these 8 sprites (oh I got an idea, what about fill the other 2 spaces with the correct Mario & Luigi flagpole sprites?)

I remember I readed in a daily tip that said that if we want our suggestions be accepted, they must be:
-compatible with current ones
-not repeated
-provide all the sprites needed

So it's very probably that if we get the enough sprites 5438A38A would add this feature, at least for Mario and Luigi which are the most used characters.
But it's not so difficult get them, we only would need 1 frame per power-up and flip it to the other 4 sides. ;)

I always want the ground pound movement. Rather than using spin-jump,it won't work on bricks like seriously? :boredom:
