All this happens when using keys and not switching sections through the menu.

In this case, I can navigate normally if the cursor is not pointing out at anything:

But if the cursor is pointing at something, it won't let me navigate until the cursor is free:

I don't think this is a bug, the same keys that are used to navigate through sections are used instead (when it points to something) to select overlaped objects, it's useful to select one object in the same position of other without having to move the other object to select it

You're right. But still, it's pretty annoying. They should be different keys instead the same you use to navigating between sections
