From gif file to png file bug aka m file disappearance

I was going to make a custom level using some graphics but something bad keeps happening to them when I'm trying to make my level.

Bottom Picture aka Picture #1: Here is what I did before the bug happened, everything seems normal in the level folder at first.
Note: These are NOT my custom graphics, so credit goes to original owners.

Middle Picture aka Picture #2: Notice how one of the slopes (The one to the right of the fire flower) got transparent, I do not know how that happened but I don't think this has never happened before.

Top Picture aka Pic #3: I open up my level folder and all of the graphics have been turned from gif files into png files and all of the m files have disappeared too. I do not know what is causing this bug but if you know what is causing it, then that would be great to know.

This is not a bug. If you see the blocks transparents in because the mask wasn't completely black (SMBX calculates the transparency of the object depending on how much near is the color to the black). In your sprites didn't had a proper mask, as you shown in third screen its mask is basically the same file but without black backgroound. SMBX also removes the mask and make the images be png-only

Oh, I see, then I guess I should probably find a better graphics pack next time without having that transparency issue, and I guess I don't really need that transparent slope in my level really.

You can use PGE's GIFs2PNG converter which you can apply to your graphics before to open your level in SMBX-38A. The algorithm of front+mask merge in GIFs2PNG is much more accurate and it had three reworks to get the current state.

this seems to me more an advantage than an error or bug xD
