Instead of THIS, beginning from 0.1-Alpha, alpha-channel masks are supported ( previous versions supported only 1-bit masks):
If you simply copy a original image as a mask, you will see this:

For correctly displaying your sprite, you must use a mask only in gray grade colors, or black and white :
(I've written how to fix this here: GIMP, Paint.NET, LazyFixTool)

(Here I've fixed only the King's sprite)
