[Version 2014-04-09]
Welcome to our project's forum!
For the purpose of order/maintenance at this forum, I have created this small set of rules:

[*] THIS FORUM IS INTERNATIONAL.
- The main language of this forum - English, except for the Sub-forums specific to other languages.
- Everyone who writes outside the special "language sub-forums" in their native language, we ask to write the English translation of the message below the original message so that the others readers are able to understand.

[*] RESPECT EACH OTHER.
- Be most polite to each other, try to be the most objective in case of an adverse situation.
- Any abuse is forbidden in any form, within this forum..

[*] MAINTAIN PURITY AND ORDER.
- Bring up questions in discussion according to their subject. If your question doesn't fit under any of the main Sub-forums, you can post the question under the Sub-forum "SandBox".
- Don't duplicate your original question, it doesn't increase the probability that your question will be heard.
- Each user has the right to have only one account in this forum.
- Any advertising which isn't concerning an original SMBX engine, projects/episodes/levels for it, is forbidden. We are not an advertising agency.
- Pornography or any photos/images containing vulgar or trite,"mature content" (this includes excessive cruelty), are forbidden.
- Note that there may be minors who visit this forum, and thus we request that you post with this in mind.

- Moderation can not be changed post without the permission of the creator of the topic. The exception is violations deleting in contents of edited post. The warning is obligatory.

Suggestion about swearing: Change the rule about swearing to:
"There may be minors visiting this site and thus we request you to keep this in mind while posting. There is an auto-censor system, and dodging it is a infraction".
Just my suggestion, it's up to you if you want it.
Do you want fries with that?

I think that is a good idea as well. It is a much more detailed explanation, and may be easier to understand.

In my opinion, if someone can't handle a little cursing here and there then they really shouldn't be on the internet, but hey, that's just my opinion.

this
cursing is everywhere, you can't avoid it no matter how hard you try. i fail to see how a set of few words became offensive in the first place.

I understand where you're coming from, too. It does seem kind of odd how a few specific words somehow became offensive and crude, but nevertheless, the fact remains that those words do offend some people. While there is occasionally a time and place for swearing, there really isn't a NEED to swear on these forums. I don't dislike people just because they swear, but we just want to make sure that no one is needlessly offended.

Wait? I can't curse? Seriously? What is with all these forums getting so damn PG?
As soon as stuff like this happens, i wanna high tail it out and take my work with me.
I'm in my mid 30s.. if i wanna curse i should be able to curse as long as it's not AT someone.. IE calling someone a curse word.. i just generally like to curse now and then.. to express emotion usually... when i am angry i use the word sh*t a lot.
When i am excited and happy i use the F word a lot... *sighs* screw it man... not sticking around someplace that's going to treat me like a child... sorry just not..

Let me add that if someone is offended it's because they want to be offended, things can only offend a person if they let it.
It's like TV.. what ever happen to "if you don't like something, just don't look".
Anyhow.. i'm out.
Gonna see about my own forum.. this is nonsense to me.

EDIT
I removed all the work i had up, if it becomes clear that i won't be censored should i decide to curse a little, i will put my work back up, but i refuse to be someplace i am censored

Hi, a lot of words (like "sh*t", "f*k") is not restricted, because it is not offending. You can freely to express your emotions, but you can't to offend other people.

First of all, I'd just please request for you to calm down before raging feeling very offended over this. It's not like we don't already accept healthy feedback, criticism or discussion in this project.

The fact is, that this is something that was already discussed previously between the forum admins over a week or two ago, and a rule change is already being made.
So, swearing has been permitted as long as it isn't being misused for insulting a particular person or being part of posts that go against common posting habits (including useless posting).

You might already notice the changes being made in the auto-censor, censoring for words such as "fuck" or the sort have been already removed. This doesn't mean the auto censor is being shut down, however. It will still be in use for words which the staff think are absolutely useless or too extreme, even as insults, for this forum. Ultimately the point is using common sense when posting. It's generally discouraged, although not disallowed, anyway this is an engine development forum mainly (as of now) and we expect productive discussion, not needless sailor-swearing.

Bottom line: Swearing is permitted as long as it's not being misused for insulting or useless posting. The intention is clearly not to so called "censor" anyone in the first place. Unnecessarily inappropriate references in posts like this are still not really tolerated though.

I'll admit that this could have been posted earlier, and we apologize for the confusion. Expect it to be a part of the updated forum rules (which is expected to come out in the not too distant future).

Well i honestly don't curse that often.. and most of the time i censor myself.
But i have had really bad experiences in the past with forums that started censoring people, and then it got out of hand to the point that i could not even do the censoring myself .. like f*ck me.. or Sh*t... it got way out of hand and i felt like i was being treated like a child.
I run away from forums that go down that road.
I am not all that much of a cussing type... but i get real angry when i can't express myself more freely.
I don't curse AT people, i don't call people names.. but i am known to randomly go "well sh*t!" and i rather not have a post refuse to go up just because of something so minor and mild.
And i could not even discuss such rules at these different forums, as soon as you would start a thread wanting to discuss the rules, and see if there was a middle ground that could be met.. said topic would be closed with no further conversing on the mater.

I was at a forum once that would not even let me type the word crap.. it gave me a hard time over that word.. which in my book, is a VERY tame word.

Anyhow.. sorry for overreacting, i just hate having a computer censor me when i feel i do a good enough job of it on my own.

Also.. striking through a word does not make it so i can't see it...and even if i was "raging" i feel i have good cause for it... when you grow up being told "don't do this... " and "don't do that" and "don't' say this" and "don't say that".. then you become and adult, you are SO happy and it feels like so much weight is lifted off your shoulders, and you can be yourself.

And then to try and be part of communities that start making it hard to express yourself... you start feeling like you back to being 2 foot tall and having your father or mother linger over you again giving you a hard time... for me it caused anxiety and thus i flipped out.

Telling a 35(well almost 35, i turn 35 this saturday)year old he can't say some words is bound to make a 35 year old flip out.. specially when he has bipolar depression dissorder (don't pity me.. just saying).

I will put stuff back..... i just know anxiety kicked up and i felt like i was back at those other forums for different things i left because of such silly practices.

Yeah... thinking about it like that, I actually agree with you. I think I used to be pretty strict on this issue, but you do have a valid point. Additionally, it's a fact that if you're gonna be on the internet, you're almost guaranteed to encounter swearing, and that's kind of something that most people should be ready for if they want to use the internet or join a forum. So, as long as it's not directed AT someone, I think swearing, or even self-censoring, is probably okay.

I also think I criticized Gohan's Introduction post a bit too harshly, and I will be sending him an apology. Some of the content in his post is still definitely inappropriate, as it contains suggestive language, etc. but the swearing on his post is not what should have been criticized.

Well, you can go through most the posts i make.. i don't really curse my head off.. but i get ansy if i try and just utter something out of frustration and then the forum would be like "sorry but this can't be posted until you make these changes, we found offensive wording in your comment, please correct these and try again".
WHAT?! O.o
And all it would be is me going "i hate this shit, i always get it wrong.. okay.. fuck.. i will get it fixed" or something similar... .. worse when you go "well that's crappy, let me change that" and it not want to go up.... you wanna pull your hair out!
And i'm bald, so you can imagine my frustration! >_<

The part about me being bald was a joke... though i AM bald.. it was meant for a laugh.

Also i was told i was fine cursing a little as long as it's not at someone, like as long as i am not directly calling someone something bad.
.. guess i can censor it if it bugs you that much though..

Yeah, I'm confused. Didn't we just agree that as long as it's not directed at someone, a little swearing was ok?

Veudekato probably didn't understand the rule yet.... The updated rule topic is coming soon!

Yes, swearing is allowed as long as it isn't for attacking/insulting other users or being used for useless posting.

so where does this fall into or was this changed after my warning. does this mean my warning will get undone or..? because that isn't at all insulting, i was more or less adding emphasis.
