I have made some necessary changes to the forums. I reorganized the forums, deleted any unnecessary boards and corrected spelling & grammar where needed. I also added two new sections to the board; Engine Development and a SMBX Section. Forum Games have also now been added! In addition, the Language Forums have now been removed. I think we can all say that for the time being this reorganization is a lot better as opposed to what we had before. Here is a list of what you can soon expect to see here soon enough.

I would like to say thank you for doing a pretty good job at re-organizing the place ;)

The language forums are sections dedicated to users that are not so familiar with English and would like to discuss the project in a language understandable to them. Thus removing them would not be the best option currently.

Although I think that a single "other languages" sub-forum would be a better option (alongside a Spanish and Russian language sub-forum), than having 3-4 sub-forums for languages other than English. The "forum rules" -in each language it has already been translated into- could be moved here. I'd like to read other people's opinion on this suggestion.

As for a ranking system using "Mario graphics" as Wohlstand already pointed out, it wouldn't fit with this project's description or overall aim. (Although the forum uses some mario graphics as icons already)

Looking forward to the other future improvements :wink:

(I might suggest discussing any major changes you need to make with Wohlstand, as to not create any confusion in managing the site)

Hm... thanks for your feedback guys I appreciate it. And well I'm aiming for more than just using Mario Animated Ranks, I'm going to include other ranks from games like Metroid & Earthbound to name a few. Don't worry, I'm going to use different graphics from 16-bit games, it should mix together if I use them correctly. Oh and thanks for fixing the sub-forum rights/permissions Wohlstand, much appreciated.

I just wanna say, that the forum should still represent a platformer engine and shouldn't have too much "nintendo" in it....

It's pretty obvious from this that the Russian guys are fairly good at making sprites. We can have them do certain characters (player characters, Likvi, power-ups, anything) and use those as ranks.

And yeah, i'm thinking quite one-dimensionally about the storyline again. But we could also have them do more... generic stuff than the Anthony things. Like badges representing military ranks, or an RPG-esque leveling system, or even low-rez versions of the "citizen" hats we have at the moment.

(Also, i seriously hope that me referring to Wohlstand and Veudekato collectively as "the Russian guys" doesn't catch on.)

In light of this, why not really mix it up, with ranks from retro classics like Pac-Man, Frogger, Dig Dug, Galaga/Galaxian or even Mega Man. No-one can refuse a Metool after all.I'm working on restoring many 8-Bit sprites from said games into 16-Bit sprites using the SMB3 palette for my CGFX Pack. If you would like to use them or just browse through to get some ideas I'll happily send some of the finished ones to you Shade.

Iframe is deactivated for security reason. Anyway, what do you want to put in, that you need Iframe?
