Names for this project's end release.

I think, you know about the "PlatGEnWohl" name. It is the codename, as you see, this project's name is "Platformer Game Engine". And I think, we must select the end name for the release of this project, before we finish releasing it. This is important - as this is the project's face.

My little things:
Because GNU OS uses the Linux kernel, and the target OS naming is GNU/Linux. => After the realization of PGE with a full tool pack and the engine part, SMBX-version of PGE: (PGE with SMBX configs, graphics, musics, sounds, algorithms) will be named SMBX/PGE (not "NSMBX", NOT "SMBX 1.4" etc.).

Don't forget, this is only a collector of ideas and target name we will select when we will be ready for it.
Now project have working name "PGE Project"

About variants:

• "Platformer Game Engine" (PGE) is current working title, but still be too generic, and also by "PGE" in google you can find: PG&E (energetic company in USA), PGE Arena (a stadium in the Poland), "Polish Energy Group". So, is hard to find in the google. However "PGE by Wohlstand" gives the right result.
• "Kitten Platform Studio" seems unserious, and now I think to growl up project into higher level to let the indie developers use it for making real projects, not only just a child toy (like legacy engine was). In nearest feature is planned to redesign logo to look more prestigious than just a child toy. Even I like cats, but I with my nearest collegues are discussed that is no connection between cat and game engine, and using cat just "because liking cats" is not good way.
• "WohlSoft Platform Game Studio" - just a small idea in my mind which based on title of our community and describing it's purpose. Title seems long and is not so unique (there are LOT of projects with "Studio" word in title, etc.)
• "RetroMaker" (by CaptainSwag101), even interesting title, but our project can be used not only for retro-style games, and also for any other game styles (look at Blade game as graphical design example, even a case of unique gameplay feature like ability to manipulate with a time, etc).
• "Platformer Maker", or "Platformer Creator", or "Platformer Toolkit." (by Mikepjr) seems very generic and not unique

The best title must be: short, simple (to easy remember), unique (must be easily found in the search engines without guessing and describing extra things, "PGE" is not unique and gives lot of junk results instead our project).

I am totally fine, if it would be a part of your name. The only important thing for me, that it should be unquie, as there are a lot of programs or whatever project with names similar to "Platformer Game Engine"

Why not something shorter and more simple?
Like Platformer Maker, or Platformer Creator, or Platformer Toolkit.
Something short and easy to pronounce.

I have a new idea for the name, how about "RetroMaker" ? I think the name works well because the editor allows you to make levels in the style of retro platformer games.

Yeah but that makes it sound more like it is more all inclusive, as if to say it lets you make more than platform games.
Leaving the word platformer in the name at least in some form would at least keep it clear as to what the software is just by saying it's name.

Even if see on Solarus, Zelda-Like RPG-games engine, we see: name isn't contains "RPG" etc. Name is unique and not connected with "RPG".
As ships: "What you call a ship, so it will float!" [Как корабль назовёшь, так он и поплывёт!].

See but i never heard of Solarus.. and if i had, i had no idea what it was.. the name does not make me want to investigate it and learn more about it.
(Zelda Classic does cause Zelda is right in the title.. by the way, Zelda Classic let's you make top down Zelda like games.)

To overthought names. I think Kitten Platform Studio is simple enough to remember and unique enough to not get lost in google search. Your ideas... would be hard to remember - I mean I've already forgot these.
