When you put NPC-68 on a liquid that bounces it upwards, then jump on the bouncing NPC-68 and drop NPC-58 on it, Mario will die (Click on the GIF image to see the animation). NPC-58_Glitch.gif By the way, it also happens if you stand on a NPC-68 that's bouncing off of a spring. NPC-68_Glitch.gif

I think he does. The star coins don't serve any purpose unless you make a global variable that will increase each time you get one. Then, you can make use of these for pretty much everything you wish.
