[Fixed] Gif2Png Still Has Issues

If you have a custom mask in your episode folder and a custom image that uses that mask in a level folder, it doesn't grab the mask from the episode folder, so you will get messed up PNGs with default masks from the conversion.

Re: SMBX-38A - Discussion Thread and Downloads

I get that automation error that crashes the game in 1.4 too. It seems to be triggered when my computer goes into screen-saver mode.

Re: Ideas & Suggestions for future versions of PGE

I think something useful for the editor would be a "filler block replacement" function. A "filler block" is the block that goes in the middle of platforms. For example, this is the filler block for the SMB3 Wood tileset: block-16.gif What the function would do is replace some of ...

Bucket Fill Tool Fills Outside of Level Bounds

If I use the bucket fill tool, it fills outside of the level boundary. This is a bit annoying. It should only fill in areas on the screen (but it would still place any block that would be at least partly onscreen)

Suggestion: ID Argument for getIntersecting Function

The getIntersecting functions can be useful, but a frustrating characteristic is that the IDs cannot be filtered. This makes it so you have to "weed out" the objects that don't have the ID you want. Why not just add an optional ID argument? I also just thought of this: I feel like some get...

This is Probably Impossible, but ...

Is there a way to change the mask of a loaded image? Yes, I know there are Draw functions with opacity control, but let's say I wanted a dither effect instead or I only wanted to change the mask of part of the image. The first thing I would do was create a 32 x 32 image with a 2 x 2 black and white ...

Incorrect Message Box Positions After 2P Test

This message box displays in the wrong position: 2016-05-24_17_19_26.png Here's how I made this happen: 1)I tested a level in 2P mode, then talked to an NPC while the screen was split. 2)I tested in 1P mode, then, when I talked to the NPC again, the message box was on the left of the screen. This bu...

Re: Samus as a Character?

SMBX is a Mario game. Samus shouldn't be in SMBXextended because her specialized abilities just don't fit in a Mario game. It would make more sense to just add a side-scrolling shooter config that had her in it.

NPC-8 Has Weird Grid Offset

NPC-8 has some strange grid offset and it no longer lines up with the center of pipes. I can't figure out which setting is screwing it up: gfx-offset-x=0 gfx-offset-y=1 gfx-height=48 gfx-width=32 grid=16 grid-offset-x=16 grid-offset-y=-16 grid-attachement-style=1 Which setting do I need to change? Changing SMBX Sort Priority Per Level

I thought that since properties of a BGO like grid size and stuff could be changed on a per-level basis that the "smbx64-sort-priority" property could be changed this way as well. I was surprised when I found that this is not the case. Just think of how useful that would be! In PGE, we can...

"Remove Unused Data" Removes All PNG Files

Any CGFX that are PNG Images are removed when this function is used, whether I have used them in the level or not. This may be due to the fact that I use a combination of both GIFs and PNGs (I would rather use PNGs for my custom graphics, but it seems a waste of time to change GIFs created by other ...

Re: How to End Looping Scripts

It must be in loop if the sound effect plays constantly. Does the sound effect play for the whole test, or just after all the blocks are hit? If it happens for the whole test, I don't know enough about this to help you. If it just happens after all the blocks are hit, this is because Blocks = 0 for ...

Suggestion for Colliders.lua: BGO collider type

I have encountered many scenarios in which having a collider type for BGOs would be useful. I know they would behave exactly the same as an ordinary Box collider, but directly checking if something was overlapping a BGO would be simpler than creating a Box collider over it, especially if I need to d...

Re: Various Questions

Are you having problems with sound effects not working in general, or are you trying to play a custom sound effect? If NO sound effects or musics are working (including the default ones), you need to set the system variable (This is for Windows only): 1) Go to "Control Panel\System and Security...

Re: Bug: Custom Mask for BGO-1 Doesn't Load

Well, just as I suspected, I'm the only one who gets the error. That's just my luck, you know. I tried deleting the image and making a new one. That didn't help. I opened a different level using BGO-1, and it had a screwed up mask, too. I got a newer build. The problem didn't go away. I redownloaded...

Re: Eventu: Timers Count Down While Player is Growing/Shrinking

Hmm. So, the waitFrames and waitSeconds functions are basically useless, then? That's what I'm using. What there needs to be is a built-in function, running every loop, that checks that state, then pauses all timers if layer movement is disabled, and resumes them once it is enabled again. Of course,...
