every playable has it's own way to hit the blocks Yes and no. I mean, if I put 30 coins in a block, Mario need to hit 30 times the block for collecting all of the gold. Same for the Princess. For Toad the block releases more than one piece (random) but need to be hit many times before being empty. ...
That's a common thing in SMBX, and I suppose that he works like that, because it seems that every playable has it's own way to hit the blocks and obtaining the coins in a different way.

This is so cool! I would help a lot if I could finish my episode in time, I would suggest a playable character change, like, changing the default playable for a new one, so it fits the DS graphics. And if possible, that every graphic used in the episode is based off DS only, not SMB3 or SMW perhaps....
