The script puts the NPCs spawn position inside the screen, then moves them back to their original position on the next frame. Technically, the NPCs were on-screen so the game loads them all. That was a clever idea, however the biggest issue is that the code doesn't handle NPC's behaviour off-screen ...

That's not something you can do, unfortunately. The only NPCs that don't depend of the screen are the switch platforms.

It's hard to give you any advice since I can't see the code. I assume you're applying script per NPC, right? If you use 8 iterators per NPC, a whole screen can load up to 25x19 NPCs and the game runs at 65 FPS, that's 8x25x19x65 operations in a single second, which is at least 247.000 (and I'm not c...

This is possible because these aren't really world maps, but levels. Since the world map doesn't really support scripts (it just makes them global) it's worth to make a world map like system using a level. It gives you a ton of options (SMATRS is a great example).

That... doesn't reply my question. I've had instances where my SMBX couldn't run by only adding smbx.exe to the antivirus exclusions, so I excluded the whole smbx folder

Just by curiosity, when you excluded SMBX from your antivirus, did you excluded only smbx.exe or the whole folder?

Umm is anyone going to answer? LxXzit changed the offset for his custom power-ups on 1.4.5, but how? Oh my god I can't believe there isn't a topic about this yet. They are still useful:
There is a way in the script system to draw characters from font files.

And
'Player GFX Offset Settings' will affect the single level. There is a way to make it affect the whole world.

I think it's worth to give a look at them
