Dreams Gardens is a game created by me (Squishy Rex), as a tribute to all of my favourite childhood games. Games that help gave me the power to imagine and create. Fittingly enough, it will be made as an 8-Bit NES-styled game, to pay homage to those awesome games from way back when.

Story:

Dream Gardens is a magical realm created, changed, and fuelled by the power of the human imagination. It is a place where the powers of one's dreams and reality ultimately fuse. Only those with the power to dream can reach this world, and unlock its secrets.

The Gardens are protected not only by the power of those who can dream, but also by spirits, known widely as Imagions. These spirits encompass the sprawlingly endless worlds of the Gardens and are known to guide dreamers from the darkness of nightmares.

There is one though, who tries to take it all away. A pestilent evil that threatens the very existence of the Dream World. That evil is known as "Mara", a dream spirit that collapsed as a result of a human mind ceasing to to believe, losing the power to dream. Mara has become a literal Nightmare, a poisonous spirit that envelops a human's mind, in which causes the creation of nightmares and and brings them to life within the Gardens.

With the Dream world in disarray, and the impending descent of darkness looming on the near horizon, the only thing the Dream Spirits could be do to save the world of Dreams from destruction, was to scatter each individual Dream across the many lands and bring them to life in a final attempt to save their world. The Creatures from Mara's world, the world of Nightmares, had begun to invade, flooding in and transforming the Dream Spirits into Nightmares themselves.

Only the pure of mind and heart can defeat Mara and restore the Dream world to it's former beauty...

sprites looks in the new style. Not very 2D,i mean mario sprites looking more flat, I like your job

Thanks Veudekato, the sprites currently use a combination of the SMW and YI palettes to help give the game a more vibrant appearance. Hopefully soon though, I will settle for a final palette. I've got plenty more sprites and things on the way so stay tuned.

Some of the your new sprites remind me of Kirby (for example: these fishes, they're cute!). I do really like them. Good luck on working on them!

The character and the entire universe is so cute! I wish all this universe can be in 16-Bit too!
My English is bad, if you read on my post something that disturb anybody like you, don't consider this message serious, tell yourself that I probably wrote it wrong... My main occupation in my life is not being a SMBX creator like (maybe) everybody on this forum, but being a guy who makes YouTube content, that's why i'm not that active on my development activities.
