There's not an accurately way to disable it by completely (you would need to make a new AI for this, I mean, rewrite the mouser from scratch). But you can tell to the NPC that don't jump in every frame (however you'll see the Mouser makes a really little jump but it's for 1 frame only, almost not no...

For a very weird reason, the Star Coins won't work if you trigger an event when the NPC dies, I'm not completely sure if this is a bug. :/

Custom sound effects in levels and a way to use normal/custom sounds effects through scripts is something I've been suggesting since SMBX 1.4.2, I really hope this be included in SMBX 1.4.4!

UPDATE: I discover the reason why the player can't duck, if you keep pressing "Jump" and "Run" key and you're in the air, the player won't be able to duck
