You can detect if there is 1 or 2 players thank to sysval(GameMode).
0 means single player mode, 1 means two player mode, 2 means battle mode.

It will be very dangerous to change the name of SMBX at this point. It there is a change 38A will have to be very careful to what he chooses. Because your software won't be bashed by some "other" users. Because I've enought to fight in this stupid debate "SMBX 2.0 vs SMBX 1.4.4" Because 1.4.4 become very different from original SMBX. Because keeping "SMBX 1.4.4" as name will take this software as underversion...
